This spectacular day promises to be an exciting event for Greasley, packed full of fun and exciting entertainment and activities with something for everyone we hope, building upon the success of the first event held in the Spring of 2013.

There will be a dazzling variety of fun-filled events and activities throughout the Parish including...

Features at the 2014 Greasley Gathering...

Preparations for the Greasley Gathering 2014 event are now well underway, and we'll be publishing the latest programme of activities for below as soon as details become available.

Please note that this is only the provisional programme and timetable and is subject to change, and more events may well be added! So be sure to check back regularly for further details!

VINTAGE VEHICLES: Vintage transport on display!

Transport is a strong theme at this year's Gathering.

In addition to two London Routemaster buses organiser have confirmed the attendance of the Hovis delivery van, thanks to the support of the Watnall Bakery.

As well as the period van there will also be a traditional baker's boy delivery bicycle on show. Staff manning the display will be fund raising on behalf of Macmillan Nurses.

Ride around the Parish in an iconic red London bus at this years Greasley Gathering!

Throughout the afternoon a classic old red London Bus will be touring the Parish offering an unforgettable experience for up to 64 passengers on each journey. The bus provided by Exclusive Cars of Nottingham Ltd., will also feature its very own Period Conductor, so you can experience the classic London Bus ride just how they used to be!

Provisionally, it looks like the route will be the same route as the one used during the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations in Greasley in 2012, (provisional circular route runs - Sports & Community Centre, Hill Top, Smithurst Road, Newthorpe Common, Hill Top, Sports Centre, Moorgreen, Greasley, Watnall and back to the Sports Centre), and is likely to have a total of 10 drop off / pick-up points along the route.

Running times and full pick-up / drop-off points will be confirmed closer to the event, so please check back on this page prior to the event for route / time confirmations.

English School of Falconry Bird of Prey

The first major attraction to be booked for the Greasley Gathering 2014 event are the fabulous English School of Falconry who return with their magnificent birds of prey display.

They will be displaying magnificent birds of prey from around the world during the course of the day and will give two breathtaking displays of these birds in flight.

The English School of Falconry is a family run business with over 40 years experience based in Wilstead, Bedfordshire. They have one of the largest collections of Birds of Prey in the country andvisit many different country shows and outside events providing a large static display of Hawks, Eagles, Owls and Falcons, giving visitors the chance to get up close to the birds, ask questions, take photographs and chat with the falconers.

They also perform two breath taking flying displays which they guarantee to entertain visitors with some of the largest eagles in the world, thrilling flights from the falcons, the beautiful owls and the opportunity for some of the visitors to have a go at flying them.
