FESTIVE FUN EVENT THANK YOU!

Organisers of this year's FESTIVE FUN event held last week at the Greasley Sports Hall in Newthorpe would like to offer their sincere thanks to all local residents who attended, and to all those that took part and helped put on this special annual event in Greasley.
The event was a wonderful success, and we hope all who came along had a fantastic time, and we hope for more of the same next year!
We especially hope you all enjoyed the fabulous carol performance by the school children of Greasley Beauvale Primary School, with a special big thanks to Head Teacher, Donna, for all her help in being part of this fun family festive event in Greasley.
A big thanks once again!
PARISH COUNCIL NEWS:
for the 2016-17 civic year…

Cllr R. Willimott becomes the Greasley Parish Council Chairman for the 2016-17 civic year with Cllr M. Brown appointed as Vice Chairman.
Cllr Mrs M. Barry remains chairman of the Environment Committee, whilst Cllr Mrs J. Layton becomes the Vice Chairman of the Environment Committee.
Cllr R. Willimott remains the Chairman of the Finance & General Purposes Committee, whilst Cllr R. Jones becomes the Vice Chairman of the Finance & General Purposes Committee.
Newly appointed Councillors this year include Cllr R. Jones, and Cllr E. Cubley.
GUIDED WALKS IN AND AROUND THE PARISH OF GREASLEY THIS SUMMER…

This year's lineup of summer walks in and around the Parish of Greasley has been unveiled.
Guided Walks organiser, Jeff Catherines, has another 8 Monday Evening organised walks planned for the summer of 2016 in and around the parish of Greasley, ranging from 2¾ mile walks through to 6 miles.
It's an opportunity to perhaps learn a little about the parish - and get fit at the same time.
As always, everyone is always welcome.

The fourth Greasley Gathering is set to take place at the end of this month on Spring Bank Holiday Monday 30th May, 2016.
Amongst this years events and attractions are…
- Red London Buses
Two Red London buses will be providing rides around the parish
- Musical Entertainment
Entertainment provided by the Ilkeston Brass Band throughout the day
- The Wonder Wheels Workshop
A variety of weird and wonderful bicycles to view and try including unicyles, Penny Farthings, bendy bikes, tall bikes, small bikes, fun-wheels and more
- It's Magic!
Magical entertainment from resident childrens magician, Don Chambers - who also happens to be the longest serving member of the Nottingham Guild of magicians!
And more magical entertainment from local award-winning magician Alex Michael who combines comedy with magic!
- Surprising visitors from Star Wars
- Colour inflatables
- Classic cars
- Displays of Dog Agility
- Display by the local Taekwondo club
- Playworks with their creative crafts, art and play activities
- A variety of stalls

QUEEN'S 90th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS...

Greasley Parish Council would like to invite residents of Greasley to a Tea Party to be held on Friday, 10th June 2016 at Greasley Sports Hall on Dovecote Road in celebration of the Queens 90th Birthday.

NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN CONSULTATION…

As part of the Annual Parish Meeting for Greasley which will take place in the Parish Hall at 7.00pm on Monday 11th April 2016 a presentation will be made on the neighbourhood plan.
This will be an opportunity for parishioners to learn about the work which has already been undertaken by the neighbourhood plan group and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions and share any ideas you may have for the future of Greasley.
