JOIN THE BREAKFAST JUBILEE WALK!

To kick off the celebrations in Greasley on Monday, 4th June for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, why not join the Breakfast Jubilee Walk?!

The walk commences from Beauvale Priory at 7.30am and will meander pleasantly through some of Greasley's famed countryside.


The walk will end back at The Gatehouse Tea Rooms where a breakfast menu will be available (tea/coffee and a toasted teacake £2.50, Pot of tea/selection of coffees £1.75, Bacon / sausage cob £2.50).

FRANKIE MARTIN CHARITY CONCERT AT THE GATEHOUSE TEA ROOMS...

Frankie Martin - popular and versatile entertainer

One of the highlights of the Greasley Jubilee Day will be a concert by renowned Kimberley vocalist Frankie Martin. In an extraordinary project last year he raised a total of £141,402 for Help for Heroes.

And he did it in record breaking fashion by singing in 366 shows – in 366 pubs – in 366 towns – in 366 days!

KELLIE LEIGH LIVE AT THE HORSE & GROOM, MOORGREEN...

Hucknall based professional singer Kellie Leigh

Amongst the line-up of entertainment at the Horse & Groom, Moorgreen as part of the parish of Greasley's celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee is a local professional singer, Kellie Leigh.

Originally from Hucknall, Kellie Leigh has wowed audiences up and down the UK for over 10 years. She has performed at such prestigious venues as the Dorchester Hotel and Leicester Square theatre in London’s west end.

Kellie is an experienced entertainer not only in her own well known show as “Kellie Leigh” but also as a tribute act to her idol “Patsy Cline.”

She will be one of the stars of Greasley’s Jubilee Day and will be appearing live at the Parish Party being staged at The Horse & Groom, Moorgreen. An act not to be missed. TAKE A RIDE ON AN ICONIC RED LONDON BUS AROUND THE PARISH OF GREASLEY - FOR 1 DAY ONLY!

Red London Bus from Exclusive Cars

As part of the parish of Greasley's celebrations for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, an iconic red London bus will be providing bus rides around the parish throughout the afternoon (12 noon until 6pm), courtesy of Exclusive Cars of Nottingham Ltd.

The bus used will be an original and classic old red London Bus, and will offer an unforgettable experience for up to 64 passengers for each journey.


What's more, this super attraction will also feature a Period Conductor, just like the good old days!

EVENTS PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED FOR THE DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS IN THE PARISH OF GREASLEY!

We are pleased to report that a full programme of events for the celebrations taking place throughout the Parish of Greasley to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee has now been confirmed and has been published on our web site.

Amongst the highlights are a Breakfast Jubilee Walk, Trips to the top of the tower of Greasley St. Mary's Parish Church as part of an open day, and Sporting and Creative Fun for all the Family at Greasley Sports and Community Centre including fun childrens sports and games including welly-wanging, and horseshoe tossing, a decorated cake competition, a Jubilee Fancy Dress, a Penalty Shoot Out, Pony Rides, Sweets and Treats, Traditional Fairground Games, and a Childrens Magic Show!

Highlights of the celebrations in the afternoon and evening include The Parish Bus Ride - ride around Greasley in an iconic red London bus, Frankie Martin Charity Concert at The Gatehouse Tea Room, a Special Jubilee Peal of Bells at Greasley Parish Church, and entertaintainment and celebrations at the Horse & Groom in Moorgreen including a Hog Roast, Bouncy Castle, Pony Rides, Games, Football Competitions, Music and Singing, a patriotic Sing-along including The National Anthem, a fantastic Fireworks Display and the Lighting of the Beacon.

PARISH OF GREASLEY DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS ANNOUNCED!

Monday 4th June is the day that the parishioners in Greasley have chosen for their celebrations to honour the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

And what a day it promises to be! We are busy organising a spectacular lineup of events to celebrate this landmark occasion with a provisional programme of events that features a Breakfast Walk through D.H. Lawrence's "country of my heart", a red London bus providing free tours of the parish, patriotic sing-alongs, traditional games, competitions and live entertainment, culminating in the lighting of a brazier as part of the national chain of beacons to be followed by a Grand Finale firework display.


We're still in the organisational stages, but are hoping to publish full details of events as and when they are confirmed in our new Diamond Jubilee section here on the Greasley Parish Council web site, where you will find details of how to get involved if you are an organisation and have any ideas and suggestions for events.

GREASLEY PARISH GUIDED FOOTPATH WALKS 2012...

We're pleased to announce a series of Guided Footpath Walks throughout the Greasley Parish area this Spring and Summer.


The walks will vary in length from 3 to 5½ miles and will be mainly off road. There are six planned walks in total beginning on 23rd April with the final scheduled walk taking place on the 13th August.
