We may also collect information about your usage of our website and traffic patterns in connection with that.

Some examples of how we may collect information from you:

We also receive, process and store certain information whenever you interact with our website on an automatic basis.

Information that is automatically received by us includes the Internet Protocol (IP) address of the computer you use to connect to our website, your operating system and its specific version, the type of web browser you are using and its particular version together with the resolution and colour depth you are using. We may also automatically receive clickstream / path analysis data of your journey through the pages on our website and searches conducted.

Online statistical software: At the present time we do not facilitate any statistical / analytical software or sevices in relation to our site visitors, though this is something we are likely to employ in the near future, where we will facilitate a third party online service such as Google Analytics, which will aid us in helping to track and collate various information regarding the pages you visit on our website, and will also help us to analyse session information such as details of time spent on pages, repeat visits and page interaction information. Additionally this information may include the ISP (Internet Service Provider) / organisation used to access our website through, as well as certain approximate geographical information.

This will be done in order to assist us in continually improving the quality of our website, its ease of access, effectiveness and performance to provide a better overall user experience.

These web logs are held securely in electronic form and contain details about usage of our website as well as details about the operating system, browser and Internet Protocol (IP) address being used to access our website as well as the referring site if a link has been followed to arrive at our site - these details in themselves are not directly personally identifiable to you.

To help us evaluate and assess performance of our pages on our website, we may be able to marry this usage data within the web server logs to data submitted through forms on our website (such as contact forms) based on the IP address of the form submission again only in order to identify, for marketing purposes only, your site usage and referring site where appropriate. This 'married-up' data may be held on secure computer systems, or securely in printed form in our Parish Office.

  • Email Communications:
Any emails sent to us either directly via any contact forms in use on our website, or sent directly to a specific email address (belonging to Greasley Parish Council only), using an email client or an email service, may be stored in electronic format on secure computer systems and accessible by authorised Greasley Parish Council personnel only. We will hold these communications securely for as long as deemed appropriate, and will securely dispose of any printed email communications when they are no longer required.

In the future, we may look towards developing a subscription based email newsletter service for news relating to our website or the Parish of Greasley and related subject matter. This will be an opt-in only service where users will be able to manage their subscription status via our website or by following unsubscribe links in any of the newsletters we may distribute. We shall of course detail any further information relating to this just here when in service.
